Call for Entries for Web Animation Contest
Themes can be chosen freely. The submitted works will be presented on the homepage of the Web Animation Contest, and might be used for related events, PR activities of the Animation Kobe. Please see below for regulations of submission. If you love to make professional animations like on TV, but feel it is too hard, maybe this is for you!
１．Submissions
【Theme】
You can employ any kinds of themes.
【Length of Work】
Within 3 minutes a work
【File Size】
Up to 2MB a work (If your work includes several data files, the total size of those files should not exceed 2MB.)
| ※ | In addition,The work of the same name, which is given at the end of that name (1) (2) (3)..etc will be considered as one piece and will be judged as one work.So, by submitting 12 works of 2mb,you can submit up to 24mb a work. |
【File Format】
a. Flash Movie(*.swf) as an example, made by "Adobe Flash" of Adobe System Incorporated.
b. Eva Format(*.eva) made by "EVA animator (series)" of Sharp Corporation.
c. GIF Format(*.gif)
| ※ | You must obtain appropriate permission from the original creator(s) of the file regarding usage of the music, sound effects and graphics etc. in this contest and your submission. |
２．Submission Procedure/Submission Deadline/Address

You have to submit your work by E-mail.
※ Please attach your work and the Entry Form filled in to the E-Mail.

３．Judges
The submitted works will be judged at the "Kobe Digital Contents Council" etc.
The results will be announced on the Web Animation Contest's website by the end of September 2011.
４．Awards (denominations/supplementary prizes)
【Grand Prix】
"Grand Prix" is divided into 3 age categories.
one prize each:
1. Children of elementary school or younger
2. Junior high school and high school students
3. General
【Nihon Bunkyo Shuppan Inc. Award】
The works created with the software "EVA Animator School" (in Japanese only) will be selected for the following prizes:
Excellence Award for the most outstanding work
U-Junior high school Award for the most outstanding work among junior high school students or younger
Creativity Award for a work with the best idea or innovative technique
Awardees of these prizes are presented one of the DVD-Videos "Happiness of the family in Japan of the 1955's" (Married couple version, family version, or parent and child version ).
【Rio Inc. Award】
All submitted works are eligible for this award. Four works will be selected for the following prizes:
Most Excellence Award
9 sets of Package software for Windows "Office2007 can be understood" [in Japanese only]) or 6 sets of Package software for Windows "Office2010 can be understood" [in Japanese only]) is presented.
Excellence Award (3 prizes)
Package software for Windows "Perfect typing lesson" is presented.
Creativity Award (3 prizes)
Package software for Windows "Household account book Mom[in Japanese only] " is presented.
Policy for Handling of submitted work
| ① | The ownership and copyright of submitted work remain with the creator. However, the competition organisers; Executive Committee of Animation Kobe, Kobe Digital Contents Council, and Kobe City Hall, reserve the rights to use submitted work for the purpose of display on the internet and in related promotional events. ※Once the Web Animation Contest Administration Office receives an application, the organisers gain rights to adapt, reproduce, show, make it transmittable and right of public transmission. |
| ② | In the case of the organisers using submitted material, organisers may ask for minor variations to be made. The screen size and layout of submitted material may be changed by the organisers at the organizer's discretion. |
| ③ | Applications must not use third-party material and/or infringe copyright. If the work or comments therein are deemed by the organisers to have; used personal information (including real names), violated the privacy of others, infringed intellectual property rights, or included publicly offensive material, the organisers reserve the right to remove the submission from the competition or to delete relevant material. |
| ④ | Submitted works will not be returned to the applicant. |
Policy for Handling of Personal Information
Personal information provided on the "Web Animation Contest Entry Form" will be appropriately handled according to Kobe City's Personal Information Protection Regulations and appropriate measures will be taken to prevent information being leaked.
