Kobe city has been holding “Animation Kobe” since 1996 and we will have the 13th “Animation Kobe” this year respectively. Through the collaboration of animation culture and digital technology, “Animation Kobe” discovers and develops talented individuals as well as promoting digital industry. Executive Committee of Animation Kobe elicits Logo type and character of “Animation Kobe”.

1. Seeking for:

Logo type of “Animation Kobe” (1-3)
Character of “Animation Kobe” (1-2)

2. Requirements

You need to meet the following requirements:

1. The Logo type and the character should be suitable for the image of “Animation Kobe” whose purpose is to encourage digital animation industry in Kobe and to discover and develop talented individuals.

2. The logo type and the character should be originally created by the applicant refer to his/her copyrights. Both the Logo type and the character should be submitted only to “Animation Kobe” use and should never have been submitted to any kind of contests.
(You need to guarantee that your work never infringe on third-party rights)

3. The logo type, should include the letters “アニメーション神戸” or “THE ANIMATION KOBE” .
*Anyone can apply regardless of being professional or amateur. And anyone can submit more than once.

Please send a package containing both ① and ② as a set via mail or parcel delivery service to the【Mailing Address】below.
*Please note that your work will not be returned.

① Printed work and completed application form which answers all the criteria below.

■A4 size white paper (Your work should be printed in color.)
*Please allow for a 7cm bottom margin in order to fill in all the contents below.
1. What you want to express through your work (statement of purpose) in 100 words.
2. The name of the character and its characteristics.
*Also, please fill in all the content below on the back of your work.
3. Type of application (Logo type or character)
4. Your mailing address
5. Your full name
6. Applicants contact information: Telephone number/FAX number/ E-mail address
*Please note that if the above information is incomplete or inadequate, your work may be exempt from the screening process.

②CD-R or FD which your work is saved as JPEG format. (Please make sure to write your name on the disk)

4. Selection and Honor

《Selection》

Executive Committee of Animation Kobe screens and decides the winners for both of the contributions and chooses grand prix winners for each category.
*When there is no Grand Prix, one of the best works will be awarded as Highest Award. They will be used as the official Logo type and the Character only for “The 13th Animation Kobe”.

《Result Notification》

The results will be given only to applicants whose work is chosen as Grand Prix or the Highest Award by Monday, June 30, 2008.

《Awarding Ceremony》

Winner (Grand Prix or Highest Award) will be awarded with a testimonial. The ceremony will be taken place on Sunday, November 2, 2008 (Sun) at Kobe International Conference Hall. The Grand Prix winner will be given 50,000 yen as a supplementary prize.
