AM KOBE Award
おジャ魔女カーニバル!!

Judge's Comment
Hello everybody, I am Kouhei Tanaka. "青春ラジメニア" is a great radio show, and I've known Iwasaki-san, one of the show's personalities, a long time. One of ラジメニア's policies is that an animation theme song ought to be something that was written specially for that animation work. This isn't to dis tie-ups, but it does mean that songs written specifically for certain works are best. I totally agree with this way of thinking. When listeners were asked to send in their votes for the AM KOBE Award from July through mid-August, "Ojamajo Carnival!! " got the most votes, followed by "Turn A Turn," with "TANK!" in third place, "HI!HO!" in fourth, and "戦士よ超ちあがれ!" in fifth place... Hey, wait a minute, none of my songs are in there! (Audience laughs) Not one of the top five songs was a tie-up song. Now I'd been planning to pitch a fit if a tie-up song won first place (audience laughs), but as that wasn't the case, the award naturally went to the people's choice, "Ojamajo Carnival!!" And now for a sudden announcement: I will be stepping down from the Judging Committee next year. The reason? Because next year, I plan to win this award myself! (Audience applauds)
〜MAHODO Interview〜

青春ラジメニア personalities Kazuo Iwasaki and Kaori Minami interview MAHODO.
Chiba: Hi, I'm Chiemi Chiba of MAHODO.
Akitani: I'm Tomoko Akitani.
Matsuoka: And I'm Yuki Matsuoka.
Iwasaki: Do you play Doremi, Chiba-san?
Chiba: My disposition actually tends to be rather on the dark and gloomy side, so I never expected to get such a perky part, but apparently I've started talking like Doremi in real life lately, which is bringing me a lot of digs from Hazuki-chan.
Matsuoka: Doremi tends to make a mess of things, and that seems to have taken over Chiemi lately, so you hear her saying things like, "Dowaah!" a lot.
Iwasaki: And that makes her perky?
All three: ... (laugh)
Matsuoka: Well, what can I say? She's got a lot of sides to her...

Iwasakai: And what about you, Matsuoka-san? Your character's pretty intense.
Matsuoka: Yeah, a real Osaka type! Aiko's supposed to be from Kansai and living in Tokyo, and I live in Osaka myself. We have lots of stuff in common. The only difference is, Aiko's really good at all kinds of sports, while I'm a total klutz.

Minami: What?! I saw you dancing backstage. A Morning Musume routine! (audience laughs)
Matsuoka: We'll be doing a play on the 17th at HEP Hall. It'll just be one show, but we hope you'll come.
Iwasaki: What about you, Akitani-san?
Akitani: "おジャ魔女どれみ" was my first job as a voice actress, so I was really happy to get it. My own personality's a lot like Hazuki-chan's, kind of spacey, so it's an easy character to play.
Matsuoka: Her head really is in the clouds!
Iwasaki: Hmm, so the three of you are really three different types. Now, this year is the first time this award is being given.
MAHODO: That's right!
Chiba: So, we came up with a little plot just now when we were backstage...
Iwasaki: What plot?
MAHODO:The AM KOBE Award is given by a radio station, right? But we don't have a radio show...
Iwasaki and Minami: Right.
Iwasaki:I, Kazuo Iwasaki, as deputy chief of Radio Kansai's News Production Division, have most definitely understood that request.
MAHODO:Yay!

Iwasaki and Minami: Now, let's hear a performance of the first song ever to win the AM KOBE Award: Here is MAHODO, with "おジャ魔女カーニバル!!"
