"Thank you. I am not the creator of this work, but Wallace and Gromit had
a huge impact on me when I first saw them at the Cannes Film Festival as
a distributor, and I was determined to bring them to Japan. When director
Nick Park was in Japan, he told me that this work was made not with the latest
technology, but using primitive techniques that require two and a half years
to produce a 30-minute movie. One thing Nick Park said that has stayed with
me is that, when he makes a film, he does not cater to the audience. But
I think he will be very happy to learn he has won this award, and I will
inform him of it very soon. Thank you very much."
